When your order with a participating brand reaches the minimum spend, it is matched to a school item that has already been handed to a pupil in Botswana. You get a private link that shows which item, when it was handed out and in which region.
Items go out first. Orders are matched after.
We hand out school items before any order is matched to them, so every match points to something that has really happened.
Handed out
CVC sources the items, ships them to Botswana and hands them out at a partner school. Every item carries its own serial number, and each batch is recorded with its date, region and a photo.
You order
You buy from a participating brand as usual. If your order reaches the minimum spend, it qualifies. Orders below the minimum don't.
Matched once
Your order is matched to a whole item from a batch that has already been handed out. Each item is matched to one order only.
You see it
Your private link shows the item, its serial number, when and in which region it was handed out, and the batch's journey.
If all items are already matched
Your order waits in line, first come first served, and is matched when the next batch is handed out. Your link shows this while you wait.
If you return your order
A refunded order is unmatched, and its item goes back to be matched to the next order.
Who pays
Cause Cart is run and paid for by CVC International Ltd. We don't ask for donations.
Where to shop
Our first brand is NDC Creations. More CVC brands will join once the first school's batches are in place.
What your link shows, and what it doesn't
Shown
- The item and its serial number
- The date it was handed out
- The region (for example, a district), not the school
- A batch photo
- The batch's journey, from ordering to handing out
Never shown
- Children's names
- Children's faces, unless a parent or guardian has given written consent, which we record
- The school's name or exact location
Good to know
Does Cause Cart cost me anything?
There's nothing extra to pay at checkout. CVC International pays for the items, shipping and handing out.
Where is my link?
The brand you bought from sends it after your order is paid. If you can't find it, contact the brand's customer service with your order number.
Why can't I see the school's name?
To keep pupils safe, we only show the region.
Is my order matched to a specific child?
Your order is matched to one specific item, by its serial number. We don't share who received it.
